•The Chase
This 18” carved Walleye was done specifically for the Cabelas National Team Championship show in 2004. It is mounted on a carved piece of Sumac Wood that has impressionistic minnows carved into the end of it, hence the name “The Chase”. I left the minnows unpainted and part of the natural finish of the base which makes it quite the conversation piece when you ask the observer if they see the minnows. I used this piece as my “show stopper” last year at all the Art shows I attended and it caught the curiosity of many onlookers. I received many complements on how real the fish looked, many of them wanted to touch the fish just to see if it was really carved. One gentleman even went up and smelled the fish.
