•Spawning Alaskan King Salmon –
Commissioned Original (miniature) 2003

Dr. Robert Breitbach caught this 35 or so pound Alaskan King Salmon on a fishing trip he took several years ago. He approached me to carve the fish from a photo he had of himself holding his fine catch. This proved to be quite the challenge with only a photo to go by. The finished product was a 12” long miniature swimming upstream, above a walnut carved rock bed, complete with a carved antler shed, and a lure (cut out of a soda can) lodged in the log its swimming over. This piece went for $950 to the very impressed and awestruck client.
