•Out of the Woods This piece was created for a good friend of mine who has done a great job representing and selling my carvings for me over the years. He constantly encouraged me to pursue my carving talents and he was happy to hear that I finally took the plunge. As a token of my appreciation for all that he has done for me I created this piece for him. This piece is also a step in a new direction with my carvings. I always wanted to be more creative and unique with my bases and compositions to have my pieces stand out. With this piece I used an Apple Tree branch for the fish to be mounted to and be swimming through. To show the beauty hidden behind the gray of the branch I carved some of the branches to represent underwater grass leaving the beauty of the Apple Wood to show through.
