• Brown Trout – Natural Original 1996 Here is a nice 12” trout that I patterned off a fish a friend had caught. I had always wanted to carve a brown trout and take on the challenge of painting all those spots. I also wanted to try something a little different with the base that I had been thinking of trying. I have seen bird carvers to it with their bases and I really liked it. That is to carve in and paint the habitat right into the Black Walnut base. It’s not much, but it gives it a unique look, and everyone likes it. Also, if you look close at close-up photos you can see that I tipped each individual scale either in gold or silver.
